Light’s Rebuke is a Unique one-handed flail made for Paladins. If you use Divine Lance as your main damage skill, this weapon is worth chasing because it heavily boosts follow-up damage on enemies already hit by the lance. Getting it is not guaranteed, though, so you need to know the best places to farm and what activities actually matter.
Below is a clear, step-by-step breakdown of where you should focus your time if you want Light’s Rebuke.
Where to Get Light’s Rebuke in Diablo 4
Boss Drops That Can Give Light’s Rebuke
The Beast in the Ice is the most reliable confirmed source for Light’s Rebuke. This boss resides within the Fractured Peaks and can only be summoned using Distilled Fear.
To take on the Beast in the Ice, you will need to do Nightmare Dungeons first. The completion of dungeons provides Distilled Fear that will be used to unlock the corpse of the boss after the fight. If you are farming this, Nightmare Dungeons are not optional—you will definitely go through many of them.
Some of the gamers have even claimed to see Light’s Rebuke falling from Urivar in the Fields of Judgment. In order to get to Urivar, you will need Judicator’s Masks which mostly drop from World Bosses and Kurast Undercity runs.
Although this drop is less consistently confirmed than the one from the Beast in the Ice, it is still a good idea to include Urivar in your rotation if you have the materials anyway.
Nightmare Dungeons plus Resplendent Chests
Nightmare Dungeons provide you with Light’s Rebuke farming material twice. First, they give you Distilled Fear which can be used for boss summoning. Second, they consist of Resplendent Chests that can drop random Unique items as soon as you pass through higher difficulty levels.
Starting from Torment 3 and above, these shining chests turn into an actual source of Uniques.
Although the drop pool is vast and not selective, opening every Resplendent Chest you encounter gives you an extra opportunity without incurring additional costs. Also, if you are clearing Nightmare Dungeons, make sure you do every corner rather than just running directly to the boss.
Helltide Events and Chests
Helltides represent one more fantastic option to farm. In the course of a Helltide event, the mob drops Cinders, which can be exchanged for opening exclusive chests in different parts of the area. The Unique items available for dropping include Light’s Rebuke, and these chests even come with that ready-made list.
Helltides are quite frequent and can easily be accompanied by various activities leading up to them. They are a good way to keep rolling the dice while still earning experience and resources if your boss materials are not enough or you just want a change of pace.
Purveyor of Curiosity (Obol Gambling)
Light’s Rebuke can also be obtained by playing chance with the Purveyor of Curiosity for Murmuring Obols. This method is absolutely dependent on luck and is not effective by itself, but it is a great way to have an extra option.
Spending Obols on flails gives you a tiny extra chance of getting Light’s Rebuke if you have already reset the cap through events and dungeons. Do not depend on this as your primary tactic, but do not let Obols go to waste either.
Best Way to Farm Light’s Rebuke Efficiently
If you want the highest chance in the least amount of time, your focus should look like this:
Run Nightmare Dungeons to gather Distilled Fear and open every Resplendent Chest you find.
Use that Distilled Fear to repeatedly fight the Beast in the Ice. Mix in Helltides and World Bosses to earn extra loot and Judicator’s Masks for Urivar attempts. Spend spare Obols on flails whenever possible. This loop keeps your farming efficient and avoids wasting time on low-value activities.
Why Light’s Rebuke Is Worth the Effort
Light’s Rebuke greatly increases the damage of Divine Lance after the first hit. The initial strike impales enemies, and every follow-up hit with the same cast deals much higher damage. This allows Divine Lance to scale well into higher Torment levels without complicated mechanics.
The weapon also rolls useful affixes like Strength, Maximum Life, ranks to Divine Lance, and a chance for double damage. On top of that, flails naturally boost Vulnerable damage, which fits well into most Paladin setups.
If Divine Lance is central to your build, Light’s Rebuke is not optional—it is one of the best tools you can equip.
