Changing a weapon skill is one of the most useful features added in The Forsaken Hollows DLC. It works differently from the usual upgrade system and can only be done in a special location that appears during certain expeditions. Where to Find the Smithing Table in Elden Ring Nightreign?
1. Go to Blacksmith Village
Only in Blacksmith Villages can weapon skill changes be made, which are present during Balancers or Dreglord expeditions and will disappear if the Great Hollow Shifting Earth event is in effect. When you enter either of the expeditions, open your map.
The village icon is a small building with tiny trees next to it. These villages may have different elements, which will determine the type of enemies you encounter there, but not the table’s process of using it.
2. Go To the Entrance
When you arrive at the village, try to find the Smithing Table. It is often located near the entrance at the lower level or at the top of the village. When you interact with it, the game will display a message saying that the forge is cold and the table cannot work until the heat is provided.
How to Find the Forge Flame in Elden Ring Nightreign?
The Smithing Table works only after you bring it a special flame. The flame is found inside the village, usually along one of the paths leading upward or downward. You are looking for a stone fireplace with a dead flame and a small white glow you can interact with.
Touching this fireplace gives you the forge flame instantly. Players in Trios only need one person to collect this flame, and everyone in the party will then be able to use the Smithing Table once.
After you take the flame, return to the table and interact again. You will now be allowed to pick any weapon from your inventory and replace its skill with the one offered in that village.
How Weapon Skill Changes Work in Elden Ring Nightreign?
You can only swap one weapon skill at a time during your visit, so select your weapon wisely. After the swap, the game offers you a single chance to undo the change.
On the other hand, once you go back, you will not have the option to access the table again within the same playthrough.
Each Blacksmith Village gives you access to skills that are related to its element. Consequently, a village associated with fire, lightning, ice, or any other element will permit you to exchange your weapon skill with one of that type.
You are not required to kill the boss inside the village to be able to use the flame or the table. All you need to do is get to the village and locate the fireplace. The feature is also available in Trios, hence coordinating your movements will help in quicker access.
