Vampire Diaries x Fortnite Rumors Explored: Is the Collaboration Happening?

Fortnite Vampire Diaries

Fortnite players woke up this week to a strange crossover trend dominating TikTok, Facebook, and gaming forums. The Vampire Diaries is suddenly being linked to Epic Games’ battle royale, with posts claiming Damon and Stefan Salvatore could arrive as skins.

After the initial excitement wore down and needed a moment of reflection, a brand new question arose – Is this true, or just yet another fan rumour created through viral social media? Here is the full breakdown of where the story started, what evidence exists, and whether players should expect Mystic Falls to appear on the island anytime soon.

Where the Fortnite x Vampire Diaries Rumor Started

The entire situation can be traced back to a February 16 Facebook post from a creator named Incitable. The post confidently claimed that a Fortnite and The Vampire Diaries crossover was coming and would include Damon and Stefan skins, possibly during Fortnite mares 2026.

From there, the internet did what it always does. Screenshots were reposted, short videos appeared on TikTok, and concept art spread across gaming pages. Many of which looked like they were credible & led lots of players to believe they had found the leaked files of the skins from some form of data scraping.

However, none of the usual reliable Fortnite sources supported the claim. Well known leakers and dataminers who normally reveal collaborations early stayed completely silent. No files, no teasers, and no hints appeared in updates.

The “Leaks” Are Mostly Fan Content

After closer inspection, nearly every circulating image comes from one of three places. AI generated concept art, fan renders, or Fortnite Creative maps. A good example of this is a Creative Map called “TVD Box PvP”; which contains many powers from the show characters. Many of the viral videos that are found on the web have been made from this community map and not from the marketing department.

TikTok videos added more fuel. Creators used AI tools to design full cosmetic bundles featuring Elena, Damon, and Klaus. Some videos clearly stated they were concepts, but once reposted elsewhere, the disclaimers disappeared.

Right now there are:

  • No datamined cosmetics
  • No Epic Games teaser
  • No Warner Bros confirmation
  • No trusted leaker backing the claim

In simple terms, the collaboration has zero concrete evidence.

Could It Still Happen One Day?

Currently there is no confirmation that Fortnite is collaborating with The Vampire Diaries, but technically speaking everything is possible. There are many different television shows that Fortnite partners with, particularly relating to supernatural television shows. The appropriate time frame for an event like Fortnitemares falls directly in line with when a vampire themed crossover event would occur.

Although The Vampire Diaries no longer airs its episodes, it does have a large social media community built around the show. Many of the previous Fortnite collaborations have been done based on the pop culture status of the television show rather than when the show last aired.

So what does this really mean? While there has been no announcement or credible rumor as to whether there is an official development in place for the crossover event, the possibility is there simply because it fits the brand of Fortnite very well.

So the final verdict? As of February 2026, The Vampire Diaries is not coming to Fortnite.
