Silent Hill: Townfall Skips Xbox at Release, PS5 Gets First Access

Silent Hill Townfall Xbox

Konami’s long awaited horror revival just delivered disappointing news for part of its audience. Silent Hill: Townfall is officially skipping Xbox when it launches in 2026. It will only be available on PlayStation 5 and PC, leaving Xbox gamers without any idea when they might receive a console version of the game.

The information has been found on the game’s official website and from more recent promotional material since the trailer was released. Townfall might have been seen as another multi-platform Silent Hill release based on the previous entries but will have a different route taken.

Silent Hill: Townfall Platforms Confirmed

Konami, Annapurna Interactive, and developer Screen Burn Interactive have locked the launch platforms to:

  • PlayStation 5
  • PC via Steam
  • PC via Epic Games Store

Currently, there are no plans for an Xbox Series X/S version. This closely mirrors the release of Silent Hill 2 Remake, which was released on the PS5 and PC first, then later released on the Xbox Series X and S about a year later. Many fans expect that Townfall will also be released on Xbox, but there has been no confirmation from Konami or Annapurna Interactive.

Meanwhile, Silent Hill f was released across all platforms simultaneously, meaning there is no longer a consistent release pattern for the franchise.

Modern games usually launch across platforms, so exclusivity deals stand out more than they once did. Silent Hill fans had hoped the franchise’s revival meant wider availability, especially after recent multiplatform entries.

This has created a frustrating situation for Xbox customers again, as Townfall has been added to the list of horror games being produced as PlayStation exclusive titles with no information as to how long the exclusivity of these games will last. At this time, Silent Hill: Townfall is slated to be released in the year 2026 on PS5 and PC, while there is no information on the development of an Xbox version.

What to Expect from Silent Hill: Townfall

Townfall moves the series away from the classic American town and into a fog covered island called St. Amelia in Scotland. You play as Simon Ordell, who has been called back to the island to make things right. Simon wakes up with nothing but a medical wrist band and an IV bag on him. There is a lot of mystery surrounding his forgotten past and how he relates to the people he sees in the town.

The game uses a first person perspective and focuses more on tension than combat. Players will:

  • Sneak past enemies instead of fighting
  • Solve environmental puzzles
  • Explore abandoned locations
  • Use a handheld CRTV device to detect threats

A limited number of weapons are available (such as pipes and wooden boards). However, your best chance of surviving is based on how well you react to your surroundings rather than being aggressive.
