How to Start the Event & Find Hoppip
Starting the event is incredibly straightforward. As long as you have progressed the story far enough to rebuild the Pokémon Center in the Withered Wasteland, simply booting up the game between March 10 and March 25 will trigger the event.
You’ll get a notification that a new Pokémon has arrived. Head over to the Withered Wasteland Pokémon Center, and you’ll find Hoppip running a temporary exchange shop inside.
Note for Base Builders: While Hoppip is officially registered in your Pokédex as “befriended” right away, you cannot assign Hoppip to a house or habitat during the event, as it is locked to running the shop. Once the event ends on March 25, you’ll find it roaming near the Withered Wasteland Pokémon Center, ready to move in.
How to Farm Cotton Spores
Hoppip wants one thing: Cotton Spores. However, you won’t find these floating around your main island regions. To farm them, you need to take to the skies.
Track down Drifloon and use a Dream Island Doll to travel to a Dream Island.
Once you land, simply run around and collect the Cotton Spores scattered across the map. You don’t need to use any of Ditto’s abilities to harvest them.
You can only select one type of Dream Island per day (e.g., you can only visit the Withered Wasteland Dream Island today). However, there is zero limit on how many times you can travel back and forth to that specific island instance on the same day. Empty your inventory completely, fly to the island, sweep the map for spores, fly back, and repeat until you have enough currency to buy out Hoppip’s shop.
Event Rewards & Shop Prices
Hoppip’s shop is packed with picnic-themed decorations. If you are a completionist, the generous event window means you have plenty of time to buy everything.
- Dandy Flower Seeds (x5 bags): 5 Spores
- Flower Backpack: 5 Spores
- Hoppip Water Bottle: 5 Spores
- Lunch Box: 5 Spores
- Juice Trio: 5 Spores
- Flower Cushion: 10 Spores
- Flower Garland (x10): 10 Spores

What to Buy First: Prioritize buying the Dandy Flower Seeds, Flower Cushion, Flowery Table Setting, and the Lunch Box. These are the core components required to build the new event-exclusive habitats to summon the rest of Hoppip’s evolution line!
Unlocking Event Habitats (Skiploom & Jumpluff)
Buying the event decorations isn’t just for show; they are the required blueprints to attract Skiploom and Jumpluff to your island. These habitats are tracked in a separate “Event” tab in your Habitat Dex.
Here is exactly what you need to build to get them to spawn:
- Yellow Carpet (Attracts Hoppip, Skiploom, Jumpluff)
- Requirements: 4 Dandy Flowers (Grow these from the seeds!)
- Field-Trip Friends (Attracts Skiploom)
- Requirements: 1 Flower Backpack, 1 Hoppip Water Bottle, 1 Lunch Box
- Dandelion Lunchtime (Attracts Jumpluff)
- Requirements: 1 Dandy Flower, 1 Flower Cushion, 1 Lunch Box, 1 Flowery Table Setting
Reminder: Hoppip has the Grow Specialty, meaning once you eventually move it into your town, it will make your crops and plants grow faster. Skiploom and Jumpluff share this trait, making them top-tier workers for your agricultural setups!

FAQs
Q: I completely missed the event window. Am I locked out of getting Jumpluff forever?
Thankfully, no! Pokémon Pokopia is super forgiving with FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out). If you miss the event, all of the event-exclusive decorations and items are added to the 3D Printer. You’ll just have to spend regular materials to craft them instead of farming Cotton Spores.
Q: Do Cotton Spores carry over after the event ends?
Historically in crafting games, event currencies usually expire or turn into basic currency (like coins) when the shop closes. It’s best practice to spend every single Spore you farm before the March 25th deadline. If you have extra, just stockpile Dandy Flower Seeds!
Q: I placed the ‘Yellow Carpet’ habitat, but Skiploom isn’t spawning. What’s wrong?
Make sure the environment matches their preferences! Hoppip and its evolutions prefer “Lots of nature,” “Nice breezes,” and “Bright” areas. Ensure you aren’t building their habitat in a dark cave or an industrial, heavily paved zone.
