Workbenches in Hytale are essential crafting stations used to unlock new items, recipes, and progression systems. While the first Workbench can be crafted directly from your inventory, every other Workbench must be crafted using it. Some Workbenches are also locked behind a Workbench Level 2 upgrade.
There are eight Workbenches in total, and each one serves a specific crafting purpose.

How To Unlock All Hytale Workbenches
Workbench
The Workbench is the one-stop-shop for all crafting. It enables the making of basic tools, primitive weapons, and the other Workbenches.
Crafting materials:
- 4× any tree trunk
- 3× any stone
Armorer’s Workbench
The Armorer’s Workbench is the one that is used to craft armor that increases protection and life span.
Crafting materials:
- 2× copper ingot
- 10× any tree trunk
- 5× any stone
Farmer’s Workbench
The Farmer’s Workbench is meant for producing food items, plants, and seedlings. It provides sustenance for the long run through agriculture.
Crafting materials:
- 6× any tree trunk
- 20× plant fiber
Builder’s Workbench
The Builder’s Workbench is a kind of workbench that is mainly concerned with the production of materials for construction, which are to be used in the erection of buildings and the expansion of existing structures.
Crafting materials:
- 6× any tree trunk
- 3× any stone
Furniture Workbench
The Furniture Workbench is the workshop for turning out the furniture and ornamental objects for home bases and settlements.

Salvager’s Workbench
The Salvager’s Workbench lets you dismantle unwanted items and recover crafting materials.
Unlock requirement: Workbench Level 2
Crafting materials:
- 6× iron ingot
- 5× any tree trunk

Alchemist’s Workbench
The Alchemist’s Workbench is used to craft potions, healing items, and alchemical components.
Unlock requirement: Workbench Level 2
Crafting materials:
- 20× any stone
- 5× gold ingot
- 10× venom sac
- 10× bone fragment
Arcanist’s Workbench
The Arcanist’s Workbench is used to craft magical structures and items such as teleporters, totems, and staffs.
Unlock requirement: Workbench Level 2
Crafting materials:
- 10× thorium ingot
- 30× linen scraps
- 20× Essence of the Void
You begin with the basic Workbench, which unlocks early crafting. As you progress and upgrade it to Level 2, advanced Workbenches become available, allowing access to farming, armor, construction, salvaging, alchemy, and magic. Each Workbench exists for a specific function, and all of them are required to fully access Hytale’s crafting systems.
