Reach the Hometree and Scout the Area
In the beginning, the quest will send you off to the Hometree area. From the nearest camp, take a trip and then attentively follow the quest marker. The closer you get, the more you will encounter the enemy, so it’s better to avoid flying or running straight into the area.
You will be taken to a lookout point from where you can see Hometree. Go down to the spot that is indicated and carefully examine the area. The purpose of this step is to make you see how much the zone is protected. The quest after scouting gets updated and is asking you to come closer.
Find a Safe Way Inside the Hometree
Use your Na’vi Senses to spot enemies, patrol routes, and heavy units. This is very important in this case. If you try to move without seeing, you will be noticed in no time.
Instead of the main gate, look for an entry route that is lower. If you spot a lone heavy unit patrolling an area, wait until the patrols around it have moved away. Then, take it out quietly to make later confrontations easier.
From there, you may be able to climb up the nearest structures or natural platforms that are situated along the perimeter of the camp. Being on a higher level than the enemy keeps you concealed and also provides you with safer paths forward.
Use the Cave Entrance to Infiltrate the Camp
While moving across elevated paths, watch for a cave entrance near the inner section of the enemy camp. This entrance is usually guarded by a single enemy while others patrol nearby.
Wait patiently until the area is clear, eliminate the guard, and enter the cave immediately. Inside, move forward until you reach water. Swim across and continue deeper until you reach a lift or vertical exit.
At the top, quickly eliminate the guards using your bow before they react. Continue forward through the cave until you reach the interior of the Hometree.
Search the Hometree for Survivors
Once inside the Hometree, the path becomes straightforward. Follow the branches and walkways leading upward. As you move, you will hear enemies interrogating captives nearby.
Do not engage them yet. Stay on the path and keep moving upward through narrow passages and natural openings. Eventually, you will reach an exit point that triggers a short cutscene.
Defend Your Ally from the Attacker
After the cutscene, you regain control with an ally under immediate threat. This section introduces slow-motion aiming.
Activate slow motion as soon as you can, line up your shot, and eliminate the attacker before they land the killing blow. This part is short but requires quick reaction.
Another cutscene plays once the threat is removed.
Fight Back Against the RDA Forces
After the cutscene, the entire area goes on alert. Stealth is no longer possible. Enemies begin converging on your position from multiple angles.
Move to higher ground such as rafters or platforms as soon as possible. From there, take out enemies one at a time while using cover to avoid heavy damage.
After clearing most of the soldiers, a stronger enemy enters the area. Focus fire, keep moving, and bring them down to end the combat phase.
Upgrade Your Gear and Prepare a Meal
Once the area is secure, leave the Hometree and return to camp. Open your menu and upgrade your primary weapon if the option is available. This step is required to progress.
Next, go to the cooking station. Use one mushroom and one fruit to prepare the required meal. This dish helps reveal enemy positions and completes the final objective.
After cooking, the Separate Paths quest ends, and the next mission in the From the Ashes storyline unlocks.
