How to Complete Another New Wing in Where Winds Meet
1. Unlock Another New Wing
Another New Wing is triggered once you are done with the prologue, automatically. Not long after giving your character’s name and regaining control you have the quest come up without any other conditions. It complements the plot and gameplay systems of Where Winds Meet perfectly.
2. Search Carefully Around the Bamboo Abode
You are woken up next to the Bamboo Abode after the introductory sequence. The very first thing you have to do is to search for the attacker’s clues. The first thing to do is to look at the broken door at the entrance and the dragon-shaped marking. This takes the attack from random to targeted.
Go to the living room and search the desk and spirit tablet. These are the steps that get the story going and provide information on Uncle Jiang. Before you leave, be sure to unlock the chest close to the door and get the Echo Jade and a cosmetic mask.
3. Leap Over the Bridge to Continue Onward
When you are through spot hunting the house, speak to Ruby outside. Use the Boundary Stone that is next to her to unlock the very first fast travel point of yours. Then, let Ruby lead you along the path till you come to a wrecked bridge.

7. Drive the Bear Away with Tai Chi
The Wayfarer gives you a black bear to deal with nearby. As you get near the bear, the game introduces Skill Theft. If you manage to get your inputs right, you will acquire the Tai Chi Mystic Skill directly from the bear. Now, you will either use Tai Chi to defeat or drive it away.
This is your first practical experience to learn skills from enemies. You can also assist an NPC close to you to unlock a martial art of your choice, which can be really helpful early in the game.
8. Win the Tournament at the General’s Shrine
You can cross the river and go directly to the General’s Shrine. On your way there, it is possible that you will come across some optional events, but these events will not be needed for making your progress. As you enter the shrine, talk to Fang Xu to participate in the arena tournament. This part of the game introduces the players to the structured duels and prepares them for future one-on-one battles.
9. Defeat Fang Xu in the Arena
To win the tournament, you must defeat Fang Xu by draining his Qi five times. Qi is different from health and is lowered by successful deflections and counters. You should concentrate on performing perfect blocks on the slower charged attacks of Fang Xu, as they will take away a lot of Qi.
Avoid his faster fire slashes until you are comfortable with the timing. If needed, you can enable Deflection Assist in the settings to make this fight easier.
10. Find Ruby and Return Home
After the victory, talk to Old Jin for your reward, and also ask him about his tricks. Use Ruby to unwrap the reward gift, which will contain a new appearance item. To complete the quest, locate Ruby and get ready for the shrine’s departure.
Last, return to the Heaven’s Pier and talk to the Beard Guang in order to inquire Uncle Jiang. This dialogue will conclude the quest and will bring you straight to the next main story mission.
Another New Wing Rewards
Completing Another New Wing grants you a mix of progression items and currency. You receive the First Step appearance, Echo Jade, Qinghe exploration progress, Zhou Coins, and character experience.
