How To Beat Ghost Master In Where Winds Meet

Ghost Master In Where Winds Meet

Ghost Master is one of the more demanding World Boss fights in Where Winds Meet. She relies on fast movement, possession mechanics, and umbrella-based attacks that punish careless play. If you rush this fight or ignore timing, you will lose quickly. This guide explains exactly where to find Ghost Master, how her fight works, and what you should do in each phase to defeat her safely and consistently.

How To Defeat Ghost Master In Where Winds Meet

Where To Find Ghost Master

Ghost Master is hidden within the Mistveil Forest in the Kaifeng area. Once the fog has been lifted, she will be found just a little way around the perimeter of the forest. If you enter the place prior to accomplishing the pertinent quest, your way will be blocked by the fog which will then sap your energy.

You better make sure that you are well equipped for the battle, as this isn’t just any regular enemy encounter. It’s a World Boss one.

How the Ghost Master Fight Works

Ghost Master is a fighter that mainly utilizes an umbrella, while on her part, manipulating the fight through moves, vanishing, and hitting slow. The fight itself consists of two phases. The two phases are very much dependent on the practice of parrying and the use of auditory signals for timing rather than solely relying on visuals.

The primary aim for you is to reduce the Qi gauge of the Ghost Master. When her Qi is totally drained, you will then have every chance to deal her a hard blow.

Phase One: Umbrella Control and Vanishing Attacks

At the melee stage of the conflict, Ghost Master keeps a safe distance from you and strikes you with spinning combos and umbrella projectiles. She also often sends umbrellas in the direction where you will be moving, in a curvy manner. These attacks can be best dealt with by parrying rather than dodging them because dodging can still cause you to be hit.

She also uses close-range umbrella combos. One combo hits twice from left to right, and another hits three times in a steady rhythm. The timing is consistent, so once you learn it, you can parry every hit and punish her afterward.

One dangerous move involves her disappearing at the end of a combo and reappearing behind you for a sudden strike. Do not panic-roll here. Wait for the final hit and parry it to trigger a counterattack.

Her most important attack in this phase is the umbrella barrage. She floats into the air, sends multiple umbrellas at you one by one, and then dives toward you. Parry each umbrella instead of dodging. This drains her Qi quickly. After the last umbrella, dodge the dive attack, which has a slightly delayed timing.

Phase Two: Possession and Area Attacks

In the second phase, Ghost Master slows down slightly but adds possession mechanics and area denial attacks. Her umbrella attacks now come with wider hit zones, but they give you enough time to land a hit between parries if you stay calm.

Early in this phase, she summons four spirits. These spirits must be dealt with immediately. If you kill them too slowly, Ghost Master will possess you automatically. If you kill them, they leave circular zones on the ground that can still possess you if you stand inside them. Move away as soon as they fall.

Using attacks that hit multiple enemies helps a lot here. Clearing the spirits fast prevents free damage from the boss.

She also gains a slam attack where she strikes the ground and causes a delayed second hit. Always move out of the area after the first impact instead of trying to parry both hits.

Spider Lily Rain Attack

Later in phase two, Ghost Master moves toward the center of the arena and summons spider lilies that fall from above. These create shockwaves when they land.

You should not run around randomly during this attack. Stay mostly in one spot and parry the shockwaves as they reach you. Only move if a spider lily is falling directly on your position. Each successful parry during this attack deals strong Qi damage to Ghost Master and can shorten the fight significantly.

Recommended Companion and Strategy

If you are struggling, bring Yi Dao as a companion. He is very effective at drawing attention away from you, especially during spirit summons and vanishing attacks. His heavy attacks also help drain Ghost Master’s Qi faster, giving you more chances to deal burst damage.

Do not rely on dodging alone. Most of Ghost Master’s attacks are designed to punish panic movement. Parrying is the safest and fastest way to control the fight.

Listen carefully during her disappearing attacks. Sound cues are often the only warning you get before she reappears.

If you stay patient, manage the spirits quickly, and focus on parrying instead of chasing damage, Ghost Master becomes a controlled and repeatable fight rather than a chaotic one.
