One of the first ways you learn about survival in The Arc Raiders A Better Use Quest is through opening and looting a supply drop. It may seem simple on paper, but it teaches you about map awareness, patience and how to avoid other players who are also trying to loot the same crate as you.
You will receive this quest from Tian Wen and the task itself appears very straightforward; but it’s not as easy as it looks. In order to complete the quest, you must first call for a drop by using one of the few available Call Stations.
However, there are only a couple of Call Stations in the whole game world so finding and using one can be very difficult. Also, when you shoot the flare to let others know that a supply drop has been called in, they too will know where it is located.
Here is a simple way to finish the quest and not lose any items.
Where to Find Call Stations for Arc Raiders A Better Use

Locating Call Stations Call Stations are spread throughout all maps, but the Dam Battlegrounds is the most secure place for finishing your task. It has a wide-open area with easy access, and several nearby spawn points along extraction paths.
Call Stations do not show up on a map until you get fairly close to them; you might walk by them without noticing. To locate a Call Station, look for a relatively tall, thin antenna with a small interaction box at or near the base of the antenna.
Here are some tips for locating Call Stations more quickly:
- Go between previously identified Call Station spawn points to prevent wandering around aimlessly from those points and looking for a Call Station.
- A Call Station will not be present if when you reach the location of where you think the Call Station is, it is not there; this means that no Call Station spawned for that mission.
- Use a low-cost loadout; PvP combat is highly risky at this location.
- Try not to go through heavy PvP areas while searching for Call Stations.
- After you reach the antenna of a Call Station, your character will fire a flare into the air, which will indicate your location to everyone nearby.
Calling and Securing the Supply Drop in Arc Raiders A Better Use

After activating the station, the Supply Drop takes a short time to arrive. Do not stand next to the antenna. That is the most common mistake new players make.
After you have activated the Station for the Supply Drop:
- Fire your flare
- Get to nearby cover
- Watch for players coming towards you
- Follow the drop in the sky
The crate will drop down to the ground like a large rocket-shaped container and can be seen from a great distance away. You can expect other players to be waiting around to steal the Supply Drop when you call for one.
The best strategy for staying alive is:
- Stay on the top of the hill if you can
- Do not shoot at anyone unless you have no choice
- Let aggressive players kill each other
- Do not move until the crate has dropped from the Supply Drop station
This mission takes more patience than accuracy.
Looting the Drop and Extracting Safely

When the crate lands, sprint to it and breach it open. You only need to interact with the drop for the objective to count, but you should still check the contents since it often contains ammo and useful gear.
Immediately after opening it, leave the area. Do not loot slowly. The flare attracts late arrivals. Head to the nearest extraction point and exit the raid. The quest only completes after extraction.
Completing the Arc Raiders A Better Use Quest gives early weapon upgrades:
- Extended Light Magazine I
