Dubai: Smriti Mandhana produced an innings of historic significance on September 3, smashing 124 to break Mithali Raj’s record for the most international runs by an Indian woman, as India cruised to a 137-run victory over Hong Kong in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup.

The India vice-captain’s explosive knock powered her team to 193 for 5 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. In reply, Hong Kong folded for just 56, handing India a comprehensive win.

The innings carried Smriti Mandhana past a monumental milestone. Her total of 10,880 international runs surpassed the previous Indian record of 10,868 held by Mithali Raj. The knock was also her 18th international century, the most by any woman in the history of the game.
