Buttler Surpasses Pollard to Become Leading Run-Scorer in Men’s T20 History

Jos Buttler has etched his name at the summit of men’s T20 cricket. The England white-ball captain moved past Kieron Pollard to become the highest run-scorer in the format’s history during the latest round of fixtures in the Hundred.

Buttler reached the milestone with a fluent half-century, remaining unbeaten on 51 off just 27 balls for Manchester Super Giants against Welsh Fire. The knock carried him to 14,833 runs across his T20 career, surpassing Pollard’s aggregate of 14,803.

The 34-year-old now sits atop a list that features some of the most destructive batters the game has seen. Chris Gayle, who held the record for 12 years and 4,467 days, is now third with 14,562 runs. Alex Hales and David Warner complete the top five.

A Career of Consistency and Power

Buttler’s numbers reflect a career defined by both volume and impact. Across 522 matches, he has averaged 35.36 while striking at 147.02. His tally includes ten centuries and 106 half-centuries, underlining his ability to convert starts into substantial scores.

The landmark adds to an already illustrious white-ball career for the Englishman, who has been a mainstay at the top of the order for franchises across the globe. His latest achievement comes as he continues to lead England’s white-ball sides, with the T20 World Cup later this year offering another stage for the record-holder to extend his lead.
