Sucker Punch has updated Ghost of Tsushima with free Legends DLC and full support for the Steam Deck.
The update improves the game on PC, the Legends co-op mode is now available for free, and is available for separate download, and the performance on the PC has also improved.
Here’s everything there is to know on where to get the free DLC, its release date, and the new features for the Steam and PS5 players.
What Is Ghost of Tsushima: Legends?
Ghost of Tsushima: Legends is a free multiplayer mode that lets you team up with other players online. It’s separate from the main story of Jin Sakai and focuses on missions based on Japanese legends and myths.
You can pick from four classes — Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, and Assassin. Each class has its own weapons and abilities.
How to Get Ghost of Tsushima Legends Free DLC on Steam
If you have Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut on Steam, you can get the Legends mode for free. Follow these steps:
- Go to your Steam Library and select Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut.
- Go to the DLC section and look for “Ghost of Tsushima: Legends.”
- Then, click “Install.”
From the main menu, you can launch Legends on your PS4 or PS5 or Steam PC. Note: a PSN account is needed to access the online co-op mode.
How to Get Ghost of Tsushima: Legends on PS5
If you’re on PS5, you can also play Legends for free. Here’s how:
- Make sure your game is updated to the latest version.
- Go to the PlayStation Store and search for Ghost of Tsushima: Legends.
- Download the free unlock.
After downloading, you can start Legends from the main menu or by speaking to Gyozen, a storyteller you’ll find in towns in the single-player campaign.
Steam Deck Compatibility Update
The latest Patch 8 update brings full Steam Deck verification and better performance. You can now play Ghost of Tsushima smoothly on the Steam Deck with new features like:
- A Steam Deck-optimized graphics preset.
- UI scaling improvements for smaller screens.
- Crash and bug fixes for more stable performance.
Also, since the Legends mode is now separate, you can play the single-player campaign without a PSN account. You only need PSN for the online multiplayer part.
Sucker Punch made Legends a separate DLC to make the game more stable and compatible across different devices. It also helps you play single-player without needing a PSN login, which was an issue in some regions before.
