Veteran Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has officially announced his retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL). The 38-year-old made the revelation through a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), bringing an end to a glittering IPL career.

In his emotional note, Ashwin said every ending marks a new beginning, adding that while his journey in the IPL has concluded, he is now ready to explore franchise cricket across leagues worldwide.
“They say every ending will have a new start. My time as an IPL cricketer comes to a close today, but my time as an explorer of the game around various leagues begins today,” Ashwin posted.
The off-spinner, regarded as one of India’s finest, now looks set for a new chapter in global T20 competitions after leaving a lasting impact on the IPL stage.
