Sridharan Sriram joins CSK as assistant bowling coach – IPL 2025

Big news is coming from the Chennai camp as the legendary spinner Sridharan Sriram is all set to join them as assistant bowling coach. Sriram will work shoulder to shoulder with Eric Simon to make CSK a prominent bowling side.

Sridharan Sriram as a Coach

His experience makes him one of the finest bowling coaches of the game right now. Last year he was roped by Lucknow Super Giants as their assistant coach. When it comes to international experience, he was Australia’s assistant coach from 2016-2022. In August 2022, he joined Bangladesh as their technical consultant for the following T20 World-Cup.

How will he benefit CSK?

Starting from Noor Ahmed, Ravichandran Aswhin, R Jadeja, Shreyas Gopal, the Chennai side is full front-line spinners this year. Sriram being an orthodox spinner can surely benefit these bowlers to wreak havoc with their spin attack. Home games at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium will also be a big plus for bowlers as well as Sridharan Sriram.

CSK will try their best to beat the odds this season as they were unable to qualify in the 2024 season with 7 defeats in their pocket. IPL 2025 is set to commence on March 22. The first game will be played between Kolkata Knight Riders and the Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The following evening will see Chennai play Mumbai Indians in their opening game.
