Biggest IPL Trade Deal officially Complete, Sanju Samson joins CSK, Jadeja & Sam Curran Traded to RR

Ravindra Jadeja & Sanju Samson

It’s finally official: Sanju Samson and Ravindra Jadeja’s trade swap is complete. The talks of Sanju Samson and Ravindra Jadeja’s trade, which had been going on for the last few days, have finally been officially confirmed by the BCCI.

For the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Samson will be seen in the yellow jersey while Jadeja will return to the same franchise, the Rajasthan Royals, where his IPL career began. Apart from Jadeja, England all-rounder Sam Curran has also joined the Royals, and he will wear the RR jersey in the next edition of this league.

Samson will now represent CSK at his current league fee of ₹18 crore. He has played 177 IPL matches and the five-time champions will be only the third franchise of his career.

Since making his IPL debut in 2013, Sanju has represented the Royals in all but two seasons – 2016 and 2017 – when he played for the Delhi Capitals. He also led the Royals to the final of the tournament in 2022.

After the completion of this deal, Sanju Samson also expressed his gratitude to the Rajasthan Royals on his Instagram handle and said, “I’ve given this franchise my all, enjoyed some great cricket, made some lifelong relationships, treated everyone at the franchise like family. And when the time comes…I’ll move on. I’ll be forever grateful for everything.”

As for Jadeja, as a result of this swap deal, his league amount has also been reduced, and he will now receive Rs 14 crore from the Royals. While he was previously paid Rs 18 crore, he was retained by CSK ahead of the mega auction of IPL 2025. Jadeja, who has played 12 seasons for Chennai Super Kings, is one of the most experienced players in the IPL, having played 254 matches.

Ravindra Jadeja also called Rajasthan Royals his first home and said that, “Rajasthan Royals gave me my first platform and my first taste of victory. It feels special to be back. This isn’t just a team, it’s my home. Rajasthan Royals is where I won my first IPL title, and I hope to win more with my current team.”

Apart from them, Sam Curran will get his previous fee of Rs 2.4 crore from Rajasthan. This will be the third IPL franchise for Curran, who has played for CSK and Punjab Kings between 2019 and 2025
