Marriage in Where Winds Meet: A Complete Guide

Marriage in Where Winds Meet

Getting married in Where Winds Meet adds some more depth to the game’s social system. It’s not merely a cosmetic feature, as it promotes cooperative play, encourages players to spend more time with each other, and provides some additional rewards.

Should you wish to get married to another player and receive partner bonuses, you will find the following to be a useful overview of what to do and where to go.

How Marriage Works in Where Winds Meet?

Note that marriage is only between real players, not NPCs. You will also need to be in online mode to access the system. In the game’s social system, marriage is the highest level of  Hero Bond. Essentially, this means that you will need to get to know another player real well before you gain access to this feature of the social system.

Marriage is also totally gender-neutral in-game. Your character is free to get married to another player, irrespective of what their character’s gender is. One faction of the game does allow polygomy and multiple spouses, but if this is not the case for you, then marriage will be between only 2 players.

How to Get Married in Where Winds Meet?

To marry another player, follow these steps:

1. Switch to Online Mode

Marriage only exists in the multiplayer layer of the game. If you stay offline, the option will never appear.

2. Build Intimacy With Your Partner

You must reach Intimacy Tier: Companions before the game lets you get married. You raise intimacy by spending time together in co-op.

You can increase intimacy faster by:

  • exploring the world together
  • completing quests or events
  • fighting bosses
  • joining each other’s worlds
  • playing minigames
  • generally staying active as a pair

Once you reach the required tier, you can begin the marriage process.

3. Go to Shi Yimo at Crimson Cliffs

Shi Yimo is the NPC who handles all partnership and marriage ceremonies.

4. Open the Relationship Menu

Speak to Shi Yimo and choose “Seeking Fate Chat info.” This page shows your available relationship options.

5. Send a Marriage Proposal

Select “Initiate Seeking Fate.” This sends a letter to potential partners. The player you want to marry must accept this letter.

6. Check for Responses

Return to Shi Yimo later and choose “Found Fate.” This shows who accepted your proposal.

7. Complete the Ceremony

If both of you are present, talk to Shi Yimo again to formalize the partnership. After this, the game recognizes you as a married pair.

Spending time at a guild or a sect is also a great way to meet a long-term collaboration partner. A lot of marriages stem from two players simply playing together, they often help and support one another.

Can You Marry NPCs?

The official marriage function of the game does not allow players to marry NPCs. You can interact with NPCs in a friendly way, they even allow players to gift them.
