The Prototype Gun in Battlefield 2042 is a hidden weapon tied to the long-running Phantom Project Easter egg chain.
Normally, you are meant to solve a series of puzzles to reach the secret room where it’s stored, but thanks to a glitch on the Uroima map, you can get your hands on it right now. In this guide, we’ll show you exactly how to do it.
Complete Guide To get the Prototype Gun in Battlefield 2042
1) Finding the Right Server
To start, you need to join a Portal server that is running the Uroima map. Search for servers with the word “Caidan” in the name, as these are often set up for players attempting the Easter egg.
Make sure the map has just restarted or the Easter egg hasn’t been completed yet. If it has, you will need to wait until the next round for the steps to work properly.
2) Glitching Through the Elevator Shaft
Once you are in the game, make your way toward the F flag area where Breakthrough mode usually ends. There you will find a hidden elevator shaft. This is the wall you need to glitch through to reach the secret area.
One of your teammates must drive a jeep and repeatedly ram you into the wall until you pass through. You must play as McKay because his grappling hook will be needed in the next step.
3) Climbing the Floating Rubble
After glitching through the wall, parachute down toward the right side of the area. You will see a small floating pile of rubble and a robot in the sky nearby. Use your grappling hook to climb onto the rubble.
This part can be tricky, so take your time and stay very still once you are on top to avoid falling off.
4) Entering the Codes
A third teammate now needs to go to a keypad elsewhere on the map. They must enter a series of four codes in order: 2550146, 613251, 515176, and 441806. Each code turns a red light to green when entered correctly.
Once all four codes are submitted, the hidden room will appear, and anyone standing on the rubble will be transported inside.
5) Claiming the Prototype Gun
Inside the secret room, you can pick up the Prototype Gun. The weapon comes with an under-barrel grenade launcher that fires farther than usual and gives you access to five rounds plus smoke grenades.
The grenades do not deal very high damage, but they can still be useful for creating distractions or covering your movement. While it may not be the strongest weapon in the game, it is a unique and fun reward for completing the Easter egg.
