Locked doors are some of the most valuable opportunities you’ll encounter in Arc Raiders. They hide rare loot, shortcuts, and safe extraction routes, but none of them open without the right key. Because keys drop randomly, learning where they appear more often—and what each one unlocks—makes a huge difference when you’re trying to survive a run topside.
This guide explains how key drops work, where to search for them, and what each key actually opens across the Dam Battlegrounds, Spaceport, Buried City, Blue Gate, and Stella Montis regions.
Every Key in Arc Raiders and What it Unlocks
1. Dam Battlegrounds Keys
A. Dam Surveillance Key
Usually, this key is located in the dam’s residential area or in the research offices. It opens the locked room in the southwest area of the water treatment control building. You enter through the southern door, walk past the reception area, and the surveillance room is on your right side.
B. Dam Staff Room Key
Occasionally found in Research and Administrative containers. The locked staff room is located on the first floor of the same building. Use the entrance with the logo of the Administration Department, then walk straight ahead and turn right to reach the door.
C. Dam Control Center Tower Key
A drop that is extremely rare in the Dam area or a reward from certain quests. The door that this key opens is at the top of the central Control Tower. You can reach it by going through a side access door, eliminating the guards in the turret-guarded elevator shaft, zipping up, and turning right.
D. Dam Testing Annex Key
Takes place in research buildings or event loot as a frequent issue. The Annex is located at the southeastern tip of the map. Once inside, go to the back where this key can open two separate locked rooms.
2. Spaceport Keys
A. Key for the container storage at the spaceport
Typically located in areas of residential buildings, e.g., Ruby Residences. Move to the Container Storage complex and ascend to the upper walkway on the northeast side to unlock a door that contains a loot.
B. Key for ground control at the spaceport
Another residential area with a similar drop. Ground Control Tower (A6) is the landmark you want to find. The locked door is on the first floor, and going through the building gives you access to high-value items.
C. Key for the Trench Tower at the spaceport
This key is frequently found in the vicinity of the Ruby Residences. Go to the North Trench Tower and take the outer stairs to discover the door that is opened by this key.
D. Key for the bunker on the outskirts of the spaceport
A key that has a high chance of dropping from residential drawers. This key grants access to a secluded bunker located west of the Spaceport, adjacent to the Fuel Processing area.
E. Key for the warehouse at the spaceport
This one is most likely to be found in research and residential buildings. The door that this key opens is located on the upper walkway of the main shipping warehouse on the northern side of the spaceport.
3. Buried City Keys
A. Buried City Hospital Key
A random residential or research drop. It opens a locked door on the upper floors of the Buried City hospital, accessible via the third-floor hallway.
B. Buried City Town Hall Key
Often found in residences or awarded through story quests. Use it at the main entrance door on the north side of the Town Hall.
C. Buried City Residential Master Key
Drops commonly in the Research and Administration building. It unlocks multiple apartment doors in the Grandioso Apartments on the western edge of the Buried City.
D. Buried City JKV Employee Access Card
Sourced from residential containers. Travel to the Space Travel office tower in the city center and climb to the fourth floor to find the matching steel door.
4. Blue Gate Keys
A. Blue Gate Communication Tower Key
This key is mostly found in Pale Apartments or during special occasions. Fly to Pilgrim’s Peak in the north, get through the lobby, and walk along the back corridor to get to the locked room.
B. Blue Gate Confiscation Room Key
Located all over the Rust Belt, but frequently in Pale Apartments. Go to the Reinforced Reception building, get into the underground traffic tunnel, follow the yellow signs, and the confiscation room is right at the end of the path.
C. Blue Gate Cellar Key
This key gives access to several cellars in the Blue Gate area. One of the near spots is close to the Trap p e r’s Glade beside a ruined house below a Raider’s hideout.
D. Blue Gate Village Key
A drop for either residential or research purposes. The locked double door is in the western part of the Blue Gate village, facing uphill and right next to a large house cluster.
E. Patrol Car Key
Will be found in the residential districts and at times as a reward for completing a quest. It allows access to the trunk of a large military patrol vehicle at the Checkpoint area under the POI marker.
5. Stella Montis Keys
A. Stella Montis Assembly Admin Key
Drops during events or from Rust Belt containers. In the Assembly Area on the map’s western side, move along the elevated walkway behind the assembly line to find a locked control room.
B. Stella Montis Archives Key
Another event-leaning drop. Enter the eastern Archive zone via the tunnel, climb to the upper level, and follow the crates and bones until you reach the northeastern wall where the locked door is hidden.
C. Stella Montis Security Checkpoint Key
Found near security or residential loot. At the Northern Train Station extraction point, locate the Restricted Area door near the lobby desk and proceed inside to find the matching lock.
6. Raider Hatch Key
It’s the only key you can make, purchase from Shani, receive as a reward for completing a quest, or loot from other players and depots.
It allows access to Raider Hatches in every map. The hatches give you private extraction points, through which you can leave the battlefield securely without using the public elevators. Use the icons on the map to find the hatches and then talk to the panel next to the door to get inside.
How To Farm Keys More Efficiently in Arc Raiders?
Residential rooms, kitchen drawers, office desks, and research labs are the spots where keys are most likely to be found compared to other locations. Security POIs like control towers, hospitals, and office skyscrapers will also increase your chances of finding them.
Blue Gate’s village, Buried City’s hospital, and Dam Battlegrounds’ research buildings are especially reliable.
Stealing from other players is still the fastest way to—though it is also the riskiest—rare keys stock up. Contested POIs always bring in raider activity; be watchful at extractions and red-zone loot areas where players often get killed with keys in their inventories.
