The long anticipated sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yotei will be exclusively available on PlayStation 5 platforms starting October 2, 2025.

The PC requirements are not confirmed, as Ghost of Yotei is launching on PS5 as an exclusive. However, since Ghost of Tsushima was released for PC four years after its original launch, it is reasonable to anticipate that Yotei will also make the leap subsequently.

Ghost of Yotei Gameplay
1. Role-playing story mode
Ghost of Yotei puts you in the shoes of Atsu, a lone mercenary whose family was slaughtered by a ruthless gang called the Yotei Six.
Sixteen years later, Atsu returns to her homeland of Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido) to take revenge. Players can hunt down the Yotei Six in any order, making the story feel flexible and player-driven.
2. Multiple weapon combat
Combat blends precision swordplay with dirty tricks. Atsu isn’t a samurai or ninja she fights with whatever she can. You’ll be able to use a katana, dual blades, spears, kusarigama, and even firearms.
The game also includes bows, bombs, and throwable blades, giving you a variety of tools to take down enemies. Enemies will adapt during fights, sometimes switching weapons, so staying sharp is key.
3. Exploration and crafting
Exploration is just as important as combat. You can build campfires anywhere, scout areas with a spyglass, or even return to Atsu’s past through new flashback mechanics.
The open world features dangerous foes, peaceful hot springs, and allies you can recruit into your “wolf pack.” Over time, these allies unlock new upgrades and add depth to the story.
4. Multiplayer mode
On top of the single-player story, Sucker Punch confirmed a Ghost of Yotei: Legends DLC, a free multiplayer mode set to release in 2026. This will include two-player missions and four-player survival battles against supernatural enemies, adding a cooperative layer to the game.
Ghost of Yotei Release Date and Platforms
Ghost of Yotei releases on October 2, 2025. Pre-orders began on May 2, 2025, with three editions available: Standard, Digital Deluxe, and Collector’s Edition.
The Collector’s Edition includes in-game items, Atsu’s Ghost mask, a replica sash, a katana tsuba, and more collectibles.
For now, Ghost of Yotei is only confirmed for PlayStation 5, but looking at the studio’s history, PC players may get their chance a few years later.
