South Africa announced T20I & ODI squads against Australia

South Africa has picked full-strength teams for their upcoming white-ball tour of Australia as they prepare for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 and the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027.

Aiden Markram will captain the T20I team, while Temba Bavuma returns to lead the ODI squad after his strong performances in South Africa’s ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 win.

Off-spinner Prenelan Subrayen, who made his Test debut against Zimbabwe earlier this year, receives his first call-up for both white-ball formats because of a great season in domestic cricket.

Young batting talents Dewald Brevis and Lhuan-dre Pretorius are included in the squads as well. Pretorius earns his first ODI selection after a stunning Test debut in Zimbabwe where he scored 153 runs in his very first match in the red-ball format.

Aiden Markram (captain), Corbin Bosch, Dewald Brevis, Nandre Burger, George Linde, Kwena Maphaka, Senuran Muthusamy, Lungi Ngidi, Nqaba Peter, Lhuan-dre Pretorius, Kagiso Rabada, Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs, Prenelan Subrayen, Rassie van der Dussen.
