Brydon Carse Sidelined for The Hundred 2025, Mitchell Stanley to Fill Northern Superchargers Spot

England fast bowler Brydon Carse will miss The Hundred 2025 after medical advice to rest and manage an intense workload. The Northern Superchargers confirmed Lancashire’s Mitchell Stanley as his replacement for the tournament.

Carse endured a heavy bowling load during the recent Test series against India, delivering 155 overs across four matches before sitting out the final Test at The Oval. This comes on the back of a foot injury earlier this year, sustained during the white-ball tour of India, which ruled him out of the Champions Trophy for three months.

With a demanding international schedule ahead; including England’s white-ball series against South Africa and tours to Ireland and New Zealand; resting Carse aims to preserve his fitness for key contests, notably the challenging Ashes series later this year.

Expressing his regret at missing out, Carse said he looks forward to supporting the Superchargers from the sidelines and returning to competitive action in the near future. England’s careful player management reflects the importance of balancing workload with performance in a packed cricket calendar.
