The 34-year-old wicketkeeper-batter confirmed that the ODI leg and the one-off day-night Test in Perth will mark her final appearances in Australian colours. She will not feature in the T20Is against India or the T20 World Cup later this year, citing the team’s preparation needs and acknowledging that her “competitive edge isn’t quite the same anymore.”
Healy’s international career, spanning 15 years since her debut in 2010, will conclude with 162 T20Is, 126 ODIs, and 11 Test caps. She leaves behind a monumental legacy, holding the record for most dismissals in women’s T20Is (126) and being part of eight ICC World Cup-winning campaigns.
As captain, Healy led Australia to a historic 16-0 multi-format Ashes whitewash of England and guided the team to semi-finals in the 2024 T20 World Cup and the 2025 50-over World Cup.
In an emotional statement, Healy said, “It’s with mixed emotions that the upcoming India series will be my last for Australia… The timing feels right.” She expressed excitement about finishing her career by captaining the ODI and Test sides at home, calling it “one of the biggest series on our calendar.”
Cricket Australia CEO Todd Greenberg hailed Healy as “one of the all-time greats,” praising her profound impact on the game both on and off the field.
