How to Increase Vitality in Where Winds Meet

Vitality is one of the most important stats you can raise in Where Winds Meet. You use it every time you activate a Mystic Skill, and without enough vitality, your strongest abilities will stop mid-fight. Because Mystic Skills help you both in combat and in puzzle-solving, increasing vitality is something you should start doing as early as possible.

Unlike other upgrades, vitality doesn’t rise when you level up or craft equipment. Instead, you need to explore the world, collect special creatures and plants, and use them to unlock vitality nodes inside a unique skill tree. Here is how the entire system works.

How Vitality Works in Where Winds Meet?

Vitality is the resource that fuels your Mystic Skills. These abilities increase your damage, give you mobility options, and let you handle tougher encounters. Every time you activate one, a portion of your vitality bar disappears. The more vitality you have, the longer you can maintain combos or chain different Mystic Skills together.

Because late-game bosses and PvP fights expect you to use Mystic Skills constantly, raising vitality becomes one of the most reliable ways to strengthen your character.

How to Increase Vitality in Where Winds Meet?

1. Collect Oddities Across the Map

Vitality is increased only when certain nodes within Melodies of Peace are unlocked. To gain access to this, you need to speak to the Oddity Collection NPCs.

To unlock these nodes, you need to give away Oddities, which are the small neutrals that can be found in each of the regions. Every region has its own sub set of oddities, and everything you collect can only be given to the trader of the region the oddities were found in.

While walking around, listen and look for sound clues, unusual movements, or small stacked rocks. These can mean that an oddity is close by, whether it’s an insect hiding in some pottery, a rare plant, or a speedy animal that you need to capture.

2. Visit Oddity Collection NPCs

Once you have enough oddities, go to an Oddity Collection NPC and select the option to submit them. When you give them the specified number of oddities, you unlock a node in the Melodies of Peace skill tree.

You have to proceed through the skill tree in a coherent path. For instance, you can’t unlock an old vitality node such as “The Music of Qinghe 1” until you unlock the nodes that are linked in a row.

Oddity Collection NPC Locations in Where Winds Meet

1. Qinghe Oddity Collector – Qi Sheng

Qi Sheng is the first Oddity Collector most players meet. He is located west of the first Wayfarer camp you discover in the Verdant Wilds. When you reach the area, look for a butterfly-shaped icon on your map. Speak to him whenever you want to turn in Qinghe oddities.

2. Kaifeng Oddity Collector – Bai Ji

The Kaifeng Oddity Collector is found in the northwestern part of Kaifeng City. Before he accepts oddities, you must finish the Oddity Melody Hunt exploration quest. This quest begins just north of the Granary of Plenty near a Wayfarer camp. Once completed, Bai Ji will allow you to trade the oddities you find in the Kaifeng region.

Oddities represent the small natural elements of the world—bugs, flowers, plants, birds, and other creatures that react to your presence. Each one you submit nudges the Melodies of Peace tree forward. When you reach a vitality-boosting node and activate it, your vitality bar grows permanently.

Because each region has exclusive oddities, you must explore both Qinghe and Kaifeng if you want to complete the entire vitality path.
