The Cricket Jump, also known as the Super Jump Glitch, has become one of the most popular movement hacks players have found in Borderlands 4. Despite being a glitch, it works so seamlessly that it feels like an intended feature.
Correctly performed, the jump gets you to skip a large chunk, if not all, of the travel you would otherwise have to do, broken game physics and all.
Below is a complete guide on how to perform the Cricket Jump, what item you need, and why this glitch exists in the game right now.
How To Perform the Cricket Jump in Borderlands 4?
To trigger the glitch, players must obtain the Noisy Cricket, one of the legendaries that drops from Sidney Pointylegs, located at the Rippers Drill Site in Prospects (Hungering Plain, Fadefields).
Without the weapon’s massive knockback effect, the jump cannot be executed.
Once the Noisy Cricket has been acquired, players must follow these steps:
1. Switch to Full-Screen Mode
The glitch is dependent on how the game interacts with your system window. Ensure that Borderlands 4 is running full-screen, as opposed to windowed or borderless.
2. Find a High Position
Take a jump to your elevated spot so that you have enough vertical room to get sent flying. Additionally, ensure that the area in front of you is empty and that you dont hit a wall.
3. Face the Opposite Direction
Make your character face the opposite direction of where you want to jump. This technique is used to have the knockback of the jump push you in a forward direction as opposed to the backward direction.
4. Use the Alt + Tab Timing Trick
Once you receive the Noisy Cricket, the timing of Alt + Tab is crucial for the next glitch to work. Alt + Tab once to leave the game. As soon as you Alt + Tab again, you have to fire the Noisy Cricket to trigger the knockback and receive the Cricket Jump.
You will know that the timing is correct when you get launched forward at a high speed, as the knockback is broken, and it is nearly impossible to fail once you understand the timing.
A streamer discovered this glitch and shared a clip online. A Borderlands 4 developer even commented, saying they’re aware of it but won’t remove it unless it starts causing technical problems.
This means the Cricket Jump is safe to use for now. But like most early-game glitches, there’s no guarantee it will stay forever—so enjoy it while you can.
