Lucknow Super Giants appointed Tom Moody as Global Director of Cricket

Tom Moody

Lucknow Super Giants has appointed former Australian cricketer, Tom Moody, as the Global Director of Cricket for teams in T20 franchise tournaments around the world. He is one of the most respected coaches in the cricketing world. Moody has won titles in the IPL, The Hundred and has led the Desert Vipers to two finals in the ILT20. He has now been seen working with players and coaches, overseeing the cricketing aspects of Lucknow Super Giants, Durban Super Giants and now the Manchester franchise in The Hundred.

However, LSG haven’t yet confirmed the period of Moody’s contract. At LSG, Moody will take over the role held by former India fast bowler Zaheer Khan in IPL 2025. LSG had appointed Zaheer for two years, but the relationship lasted just one season and Zaheer parted ways with the franchise in September.

Having been linked with another franchise in the Hundred, Moody will unfortunately have to leave his role at Oval Invincibles, where he led the Hundred team to rare victories three times in the men’s competition.

The Super Giants’ support staff now includes some big names, led by head coach Justin Langer. Kane Williamson (Strategic Advisor), Lance Klusener (Assistant Coach), Bharat Arun (Bowling Coach) and Carl Crowe (Spin Consultant) are the other members of the Lucknow Super Giants’ support staff ahead of the 2026 edition of the IPL.

After a stellar performance in their first two editions, the Super Giants have not been able to qualify for the IPL playoffs since then. Langer, Moody, Williamson and their team will be eager to take the team to the playoffs as the retention and auction for the IPL 2026 season draws closer.
