Upgrading your weapons in Battlefield Redsec is one of the most important ways to gain an advantage in the warzone. The upgrade system in Battlefield Redsec’s Battle Royale mode works differently from the standard multiplayer mode.

Understanding the Battlefield Redsec Weapon Upgrade System
In Redsec, weapons increase to six different rarities: Gray, Green, Blue, Purple, Gold, and then Red, with Red as the best gear. Handles, attachments, and overall weapon performance all improve with each upgrade.
To upgrade, you seek out and collect Weapon Kits scattered around the Fort Lyndon map, which you can then pair with certain weapon types. Assault Rifle Kits, Sniper Rifle Kits, and others all relate to the different weapon types. Every kit you find advances your weapon one rarity level.
For example, if your weapon is a Gray, a Green kit will bring it up to the next level and you can continue this step-wise process until you reach the rarity closest to perfect.
How to Upgrade Weapons in Battlefield Redsec Step-by-Step
1. Find Weapon Kits
Search the area of Fort Lyndon and Identify Weapon Kits based on your gun type. Loot crates, supply drops, and even the gear of fallen enemies hold these kits.
2. Open Your Inventory
Press the Tab key on your PC. If you are on a PS5 or Xbox, you need to hold the touchpad or View button. You will see the inventory screen.
3. Select the Weapon to Upgrade
Some weapons will have three colored arrows nearby. These indicate that the weapon can be enhanced and shows the next rarity levels.
4. Confirm the Upgrade
Stats and attachments of your weapon will improve immediately once you select the kit and confirm the upgrade.
Choose Between Two Upgrade Paths
For each enhanced weapon, you will have two upgrade options. One commonly emphasizes sight attachments, while the other improves stats such as recoil control, stability, and damage range.
Pick the path that matches your playstyle. For example:
- If you prefer long-range combat, go for enhanced sights.
- If you like close combat or fast movement, pick attachments that improve handling and recoil.
These choices let you build weapons that fit your personal combat strategy perfectly.
The Red rarity level represents the highest possible upgrade in Battlefield Redsec. However, you can’t reach it using regular Weapon Kits.
Red weapons can only be obtained through Custom Weapon Drops that appear randomly during a match. These drops allow you to equip your pre-built custom loadouts, which you’ve configured before entering the match.
